Snow Farm for Secondary Schools
The Snow Farm is the perfect place for a fun school outing away from the ski lifts, as well as for high quality physical and outdoor education opportunities. We have world-class ski instructors, over 50 kilometers of groomed cross-country ski and snowshoe trails, two backcountry huts, all in a pristine alpine environment.
Physical Education and Outdoor Education Instruction and Assessment
The Snow Farm offers instruction and assessment for a range of options for Physical Education Achievement Standards and Outdoor Education Unit Standards in Nordic skiing. Nordic Skiing is one of the best aerobic exercises there is and requires strength, stamina, balance, coordination and rhythm. The alpine environment of the Pisa Range also provides opportunities for standards in risk management, snow caving and other outdoor pursuits for schools that can provide their own instruction and assessment in those areas. Click the button below for more information about the different standards and assessment options.
Cross-country Skiing Experience Days
Bring a large or small group of students for a day on the snow, or an overnight adventure. Backcountry huts can be booked for overnight trips. Experience days are a favorite with primary schools, as well as secondary schools. Activities for the day can include XC skiing, snowshoeing, and tubing/tobogganing.
Weekly Programmes for Local Schools
We offer special rates for school programmes and teams coming to the Snow Farm on a weekly basis. Currently we have a weekly programme with Mount Aspiring College. For more information on this programme or if you are interested in starting a weekly programme for your school, please contact us.
