Youth Programs for 2019 Winter

For anyone with children interested in cross country skiing from learners to advanced, there is a program to suit this winter at Snow Farm. The programs are the same as last year with the Merino Lambs, Mini Merinos and Development Team, but the format has been changed slightly based on feedback from last year. All programs start on Saturday the 27th of July.

We have early bird rates on all programs for payment and registration before the 30th of April, and the final deadline for registration is July 1st. The programs are as follows:

  • Merino Lambs
  • Mini Merinos
  • Development Team

There is also an early season 3 day camp from the 10th to the 12th of July to help accelerate the transition back onto snow and start the season strong. The camp is aimed at youth intending to participate in the Mini Merinos and Development Team.

New this year are Sunday Skills sessions for participants in the Mini Merinos or Development team. This extra session where our coaches, guest coaches and visiting international athletes will work with the participants on Sunday morning on a specific technique to further their development and inspire them to progress further in the sport.

Age ranges are guides only if you feel your child is outside these ranges but suitable for the program, please contact us, and we can advise you. We are currently confirming our coaching team for 2019 and will update you as we finalise the roster for this winter. Follow the link below to our website for further information and registration.

This Saturday the Waiorau Nordic Sports Club is holding its 2nd of four working bees in the lead up to winter. As a non-profit organisation, the Snow Farm depends on volunteer help to get the place in shape for winter. If you can help we would love to see you up there! It is a great chance to meet new people that you will see out and about on the trails this winter.

The working bee starts at 10:00 am and finishes at 3:00 pm, everyone meets at the Snow Farm Base Building. All Volunteers will receive a day pass for friends, or you can put that value towards treating yourself or a friend to a private lesson or clinic during the winter.

The more, the merrier, so if you can make it, please email us in advance that you plan to attend using the link below. Make sure you provide us with your cellphone number so that if we need to cancel due to weather, we can notify you. Email us at info (@) with your cellphone number so we can contact you.
