Pisa Conservation Area
The Pisa Conservation Area is 23,000 ha of stunning high country overlooking the Upper Clutha and Wakatipu basins, and beyond to the Southern Alps/Ka Tiritiri o te Moana.
During winter please DO NOT park your car at the south end of the lodge. All cars must be parked in the main carpark and if you are overnighting you will be required to park your car in specific parks for overnight guests.
Access to the Snow Farm trail network for purposes of accessing the Pisa Conservation Area is only through the lodge building out onto the trails. Access to the trails from the south end of the lodge building is prohibited in winter and can only be used during the summer months.
Snow Farm provides access to the area is through the Snow Farm cross-country ski area using routes in winter and one option in summer. Anybody with a seasons pass or a full trail pass from Snow Farm does not need to pay a road toll and are welcome to use our trails to access the Pisa Conservation Area from any point. However, people using the Backcountry pass or DOC access may only access from Musterers Flat and users of the DOC Access must pay a road toll.
During the summer months, access is provided to the Snow Farm trail network using the access at the south end of the lodge. The summer road toll is $20 and can be paid using the honesty box at the access to the trails. Failure to pay and display a valid receipt or printed booking confirmation in your window may result in your vehicle being clamped.
